Culture Minister Helmy el Namnam underlined the need of restoring the Arab documents which were looted by the colonialism forces in the past.
This came during a speech delivered by the minister during the annual celebration of Arab Document Day, which was held on Monday at the Arab League in Cairo.
"A country without documents is a country without memory, history and rights," he said, adding that Egypt knows very well the value of the document.
There are several documents in Arab countries that were subjected to theft and looting, he further said.
The Arab nation is facing serious dangers related to the Arab memory, he added.
He, meanwhile, urged the Arab League to intensify efforts in preserving Arab documents which represent the history and heritage of the Arab nation.
The celebration was attended by Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit and heads of the Arab archives.
