Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority,TCA, Abu Dhabi, has announced the appointment of Dyala Nusseibeh as Fair Director of Abu Dhabi Art, ahead of the 2016 edition of the event later this month.
Talking about the importance of the appointment, Saif Saeed Ghobash, Director General of TCA Abu Dhabi said, "Abu Dhabi Art is one of the cornerstones of the emirate’s growing cultural calendar, weaving in our rich national perspective into the ongoing global cultural conversation. Dyala is well connected to her peers in the art world and the UAE community so her forthcoming leadership is an important moment for the project."
Nusseibeh, a graduate in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge, has also completed a master’s degree with distinction in Contemporary Art from Glasgow University.
Commenting on her appointment, Dyala Nusseibeh said, "I am honoured to have joined the phenomenal team behind Abu Dhabi Art and look forward to contributing to its growth in the future. Abu Dhabi is undertaking extraordinary transformations in the field of art and Abu Dhabi Art will have a distinct role to play in supporting these important cultural innovations."
The eighth edition of Abu Dhabi Art scheduled to run from November 16th-19th, at Manarat Al Saadiyat, offers the UAE capital’s residents and visitors a rich programme of innovative exhibitions, talks and performances.
