Two gas pipelines have been set on fire by the Ukrainian military shelling of two districts of Ukraine’s Eastern city of Donetsk, the capital of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the Donetskgorgaz (Donetsk City Gas) gas distribution company reported on Monday.
More than 5,000 city dwellers have been left without gas supply as a result of the artillery attack, Itar-Tass reported.
"Massive artillery shelling on November 23 has damaged the local gas distribution networks in many places, destroyed several houses and city infrastructure facilities. High and medium pressure pipelines are on fire in two districts of the city," the company said.
Seven repair teams have been engaged in the restoration efforts.
