Group Sonatrach and associates entrusted to British Petrofac the building of gas facilities of North Reggane project, for a budget worth $976.05 million, under a contract signed Thursday in Algiers by the two sides. Sonatrach partners in the development of North Reggane gas project, known as "Grouping Reggane", are Spanish Repsol, German RWE-DEA and Italian Edison. North Reggane, is one of the first projects which will be developed in Algeria’s south-west, a region which contains huge gas reserves but little explored up to now. The big deposits known and exploited are those located in the south-east of the country. North Reggane project is an association under which the production is shared up to 40% for Sonatrach, 29.25% for Repsol. The groups RWE-DEA and Edison respectively hold 19.50% and 11.25%.
