Iran planned to install a big oil platform in the Persian Gulf, the satellite Press TV reported Sunday. The country's experts will install next week the biggest oil exploitation platform in the Reshadat oil field, about 110 km southwest of Iran's Lavan Island, Press TV reported. Oil expert Amin Panahi said that once the platform, weighing 9, 000 tons, becomes operational it would increase Iran's total oil production by 75,000 barrels per day, according to the report. Iran has already increased its oil exports by 50,000 barrels per day since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year ( on March 21), Ahmad Qalebani, managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company, was quoted as saying.
