Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab has said delaying the decision of lifting subsidy on fuel costs the state 350 million pounds daily.
The government is working for the sake of the country, Mahlab said in a phone call with a TV program Saturday.
This step aims at rectifying the past mistakes and building a strong economy, he said.
"The micro-buses fees were determined all over Egypt and anyone that violates these prices will be firmly handled," he added.
The citizens should hold on to their rights, he said.
Mahlab noted that this step was for the interest of the poor people.
