The Western Balkan Investment Framework (WBIF) has approved 1.1 million euros in loan for Albania's gas plan, the ATA news agency reported on Saturday.
The loan, along with funds obtained by the state oil company of Azerbaijan SOCAR and Heading Board of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline project, marked a milestone in Albania's gasification.
Under the gas plan, a study will be conducted on evaluation of technical and commercial conditions and needs related to absorptive capacity as well as distribution infrastructure for Albania's gasification.
The plan could also identify priority investment projects deemed necessary to facilitate the gasification.
Sources and routes of energy supply diversification and energy security remain primary objective of the Albanian government.
