Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Distribution, today launched the new ADNOC Xpress concept of petrol stations in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Part of ADNOC Distribution’s expanding network, the new Xpress stations are set to service the most congested areas of Abu Dhabi city and its suburbs.
The inauguration took place at Al Maqta station, the first in the ADNOC Xpress network. The station is located near the Abu Dhabi Federal Court of First Instance on Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street.
The event was attended by members of ADNOC Distribution’s senior management and officials from several government entities. During the inauguration ceremony of Al Maqta station, ADNOC Distribution also announced the opening of Al Shurooq station in Abu Dhabi’s Shakhbout City, the second facility in the ADNOC Xpress network.
Maximising speed and convenience of service, ADNOC Xpress stations have an oblong ground plan featuring one island with either two or three dispensers that offer only two fuel varieties – Special 95 and E-Plus 91.
ADNOC Distribution carefully selected the sites based on the results of studies that examined the demand for refuelling services in various locations within Abu Dhabi city and its suburbs Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Al Rashdi said, "At ADNOC Distribution, we are keen to ease the pressure on our existing service station network and offer motorists more options to refuel their vehicles as part of our efforts to enhance the customer experience. Towards this priority, we launched ADNOC SMART and are opening two new stations under the ADNOC Xpress umbrella - reinforcing our ongoing efforts to provide our customers with high-quality refuelling services in the shortest possible time. We are confident this new concept will appeal to our customers and make the refuelling process easier and more convenient for all."
Set to commence full operations by Q1 2017, the initial ADNOC Xpress network will comprise eight more stations on Abu Dhabi Island and mainland, including two stations in Mohamed bin Zayed City, and one station in each of the following locations: Shakhbout City, Khalifa City, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Street, Delma Street, and Al Falah Street.
