Chedly Ayari, the Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia, arrived in Cairo on Saturday to attend Sunday's meeting of governors of central banks and Arab monetary foundations.
The meeting, under Central Bank of Egypt Governor Hisham Ramez, will discuss regional and international economic and financial developments.
The meeting will also review dealing with the risks of large exposures and experiences of Arab countries; additional capital requirements to reduce the risk of fluctuations in business cycles and credit granting; the role of the comprehensive prudential supervision policies support financial stability for the Arab States; and regulatory developments in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism and the importance of preparing for the second round of mutual evaluation process.
The meeting will review a follow-up report on the project to establish a regional system for clearing and settling inter-Arab payments.
