The Family Bank participates in the Kingdom of Bahrain's International Autumn Fair 2012 organized under the auspices of the Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr. Hassan Fakhroo , in the Bahrain Exhibition and Conventions Center in the presence of a number of ambassadors from participating countries, members of the Shura Council and the House of Representatives, businessmen, officials, and the Family Bank's CEO Dr. Atif Al-Shibrawi. On this occasion, Dr. Al-Shibrawi accentuated the significance of the bank's participation in partnership with its clients in trade fairs and economic functions in order to boost business and tourism sectors and the national economy and activate local market businesses and to promote the Kingdom of Bahrain as a hub for mercantile and business tourism, pointing out the significance of the Autumn Fair for consumer products with participation of more than 700 overseas exhibitors alongside 86 local firms. Al-Shibrawi praised the support given by the Bahrain Exhibitions and Conventions Authority to the bank in providing opportunities to clients of the bank to show local products to visitors. The Family Bank is the first Islamic-Sharia complaint bank in Bahrain which mainly finances micro-enterprises in the same manner as the pilot project of Gramin Bank of Bangladeshi founded by professor Muhammad Yunus which is now applicable in more than 52 countries worldwide. The Family Bank obtained its business licensure from the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) in October 2009 and has ever since provided Sharia-compliant financial services to more than 1000 clients so far all over the Kingdom of Bahrain.
