Within the series of his continuing meetings, the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, Hazim Abdul-Gadir Ahmed discussed with the General Managers all banks operating in the country the work of external correspondents with the Sudanese banks after lifting the economic embargo on Sudan.
The Governor of the Central Bank reviewed the visits he made to a number of correspondents in their countries and met with a number of central bank governors. He called on the general managers of the banks to provide a detailed report on the banks' efforts on activating correspondence relations with external correspondents to know the efforts of each bank.
The Governor of the Central Bank asserted occurrence of reasonable breakthrough with some reservations from some correspondents. The meeting also touched on the formation of the cotton portfolio led by the Capital United Bank, Farmers Commercial Bank, the Workers Food Portfolio led by the Workers' National Bank and the Gum Arabic Portfolio led by the Farmers Commercial Bank.
Meanwhile, the participants heard a detailed explanation by those who on charge of the Sudan Hospital for the Free Treatment of Child Cancer represented by the Field Marshal Abdul-Rahman Sowar Al-Zahab, the Chairman of the Hospital's Board of Trustees, who acquainted them with the efforts exerted to complete this edifice, which is very important for the treatment of child cancer in Sudan.
The Wife of the First Vice President and Prime Minister of the National Council of Ministers and the Hospital Supervisor Laila Mohamed Ali gave a speech on the project.
The Central Bank has launched the donation campaign for the hospital through provision of modern vehicle to the hospital in addition to the amount of three million pounds and then followed by the commercial banks.
