The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said Tuesday the total deposits at the banking system rose by about 11 billion pounds to reach in February 1.934 trillion pounds against 1.923 trillion in January.
The bank added in its latest report the total government deposits hit 303 billion pounds including 217 billion in local currency and 85.8 billion pounds in foreign currency.
It added the non-government deposits rose in February to reach 1.631 trillion pounds against 1.617 trillion pounds in the previous month.
It pointed out that the total deposits in foreign currency amounted to 279.8 billion pounds of which the public business sector got 15.33 billion pounds while the private sector got 87.9 billion pounds and the family sector got 172 billion pounds.
