The Bank of Sharjah (BoS) has signed a Memorandum of Engagement (MoE) with the Pearl Initiative, both parties have announced. The bank commits, as a Founding Partner, to the principles of transparency and accountability of the Pearl Initiative and will actively participate in leadership development programmes, experience-sharing forums and research activities to generate regional insight. Having the Bank of Sharjah as a Founding Partner is a boost for the Pearl Initiative, as it brings extensive banking experience in the Gulf to an ever-growing list of partner organisations. According to Varouj Nerguizian, CEO of the Bank of Sharjah, the partnership with the Pearl Initiative is an effective way to support the laudable goals of the Initiative while ensuring that the Bank’s own standards of governance remain steadfast.
