For the third consecutive year, Bank Sohar’s website (www.banksohar.net) has won awards at the regional level (Middle East) 2011 Banking Web Awards Competition organised by the Pan Arab Web Awards recently held in Lebanon. The bank won three awards — Best Interactivity Award for Commercial and Corporate Banks, Best Structure Award in Retail Banks and in the Private and Investment Banks category in the competition. Munira Abdulnabi Macki, DGM — Human Resources and Corporate Support, Mazin al Raisi, AGM and Head Marketing and Publicity and Mujahid Said al Zadjali, AGM and Head IT received the award on behalf of the bank. Commenting on the achievement, Munira said, ‘‘we are delighted to have won the award for the third consecutive year in a row. This is a proud moment as the bank is celebrating its fifth year of its operations in the Sultanate. During the past five years, the bank has grown to become the fourth largest bank in Oman, with a large customer base and an array of unique products and services.’’ “Bank Sohar’s website has been consistently winning award and this year, it has managed to win three awards in various categories. These awards would not have been possible without the encouragement and positive feedback of our customers in our endeavour to provide the best services,’’ added Munira. Bank Sohar’s website is an excellent electronic platform that complements the business of the bank. It provides information on all of the bank’s products and services as well as customers can visit the site for information on different types of accounts and deposits, loans and also the new Al Mumayaz Savings scheme 2012. The bank’s website has been winning prestigious awards since it was launched in July 2007. Locally, Bank Sohar won its third award under the category of Banking and Finance in 2011, the sixth Oman Web Awards competition.
