Bank of Beirut’s consolidated net profits reached $52 million in the first half of 2012, up by 6.9 percent from $48.7 million in the first half of 2011. Net interest income increased by 11.9 percent, from $68.8 million in the first half of 2011 to $76.9 million in the first half of 2012, while net commission earnings increased by 18.4 percent, from $30.8 million in the first half of 2011 to $36.5 million in the first half of 2012. Total operating income amounted to $136.1 million in the first half of 2012, up by 17.9 percent from $115.5 million in the corresponding period of 2011. Total assets reached $9.9 billion at end-June 2012, up by 1.6 percent from $9.7 billion at end-2011. Loans to customers went up by 3.1 percent to attain $3.4 billion at end-June 2012, from $ 3.3 billion at end-2011.
