Energy, Environment and Climate Change Manager at the African Development Bank (AfDB) Anthony Nyong said consensus has to be reached on sustainable development goals in the African continent.
The AfDB calls for a larger financial support from the international community, unifying efforts and encouraging private sector investments in the environment field, Nyong said during the second and final day of the sixth conference of African environment ministers.
Energy has a great role in developing the continent especially that many Africans still live in darkness, he said, adding that the bank is trying to provide energy sources in Africa by 2025.
Nyong called for unifying Africa’s goals to support and preserve natural resources, fight their illegal trade and maintain natural capital.
