LG Electronics, the world's fifth- largest handset maker, said Tuesday that it rolled out the world' s smallest wireless charger for smartphones at the 2013 Mobile World Congress (MWC). The WCP-300, LG's new wireless charger with 6.9 centimeters in diameter, was launched at the 2013 MWC held in Barcelona, according to an e-mailed statement. Despite its small size, the charging area is 1.7 times wider than its predecessor model. "Wireless charging is the holy grail of smartphone user convenience," said Park Jong-seok, president and chief executive of LG's mobile communications business. "With the WCP-300, LG is able to deliver both portability and top-class charging capabilities in a device no larger than a typical beverage coaster. "
