The elecronics retailers handled more customers at this year’s Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS). Laptops, smartphones and DSLR cameras along with Internet TVs remained best selling electronic products during the summer. khaleej timesJumbo Electronics, one of the leading electronics retailers in the UAE, on Tuesday announced a sales spike in the final week of DSS 2012. Nadeem Khanzadah, head of Retail at Jumbo Electronics, said: “After strong results from this year’s Dubai Shopping Festival, we had very high hopes for DSS sales this year. After a sluggish start — with the festival kicking off before the school summer break — the second half of DSS saw a significant uptake in sales, with the final week recording a high footfall and increase in sales figures. We usually see a last minute rush during DSS, and this year, it seems to have been amplified by the shorter than usual DSS period.” The hot ticket items for consumers over the DSS period were laptops, smartphones, DSLR cameras and Bravia TV.
