Tax payment by Internet will be possible before the end of first half of 2013, said Finance Minister Karim Djoudi said Thursday. The minister, who was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of his answers to senators on the draft Finance Act 2013, did not provide details on the operation to be conducted by the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI). Also asked to provide more information on Algeria response OTA former boss Naguib Sawiris sued it (for $5bn), the minister said that "Algeria had recourse to two offices: one internal and the other external." Confirming his Monday statement to the press, he recalled that Sawiris’s appeal to international arbitration "dates back to several months," denied being aware of the existence of another arbitration proceeding against the Algeria made by the former head of OTA. A French newspaper reported on Sunday that Sawiris had decided to sue Algeria for $ 5 billion in compensation of the harm he allegedly suffered in the Djezzy case.
