Google has launched an app thats lets users display photos from their phones, tablets and laptops to a television using the Chromecast device. The app called Photowall is the latest from Chrome Experiment, software created by Google for third-party developers to create their own apps for the streaming device. The app works with both Android- and iOS-enabled phones. The idea is to allow users to share their photos to a group of people rather than having to pass their smartphone around. "Photowall for Chromecast is a new Chrome Experiment that lets people collaborate with images on the TV -- using phones or tablets," the app description reads. "Anyone can take a picture and send it to a Photowall to instantly see it on the big screen." The app comes with picture-editing tools that will let users doodle and make notes on the photos, and then display them on TV screens. It will also create a Youtube montage so that users can share their photo creations easily. Also, other users do not have to have the app installed on their devices. They can access the web-based interface and add doodles and annotations on the pictures, making it a more participatory experience. Photowall is available for Apple iOS devices through the App Store, and will be available for Android in the Google Play store starting Monday.
