Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the activities and programs of Souq (Market) Okaz-2011, will be launched on September 20. The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Mohieddin Khoja has approved that the Ministry of Culture and Information shall organize an Electronic Book Fair, launch a website relating to the Fair, and cover Souq's programs and activities via television and radio channels of the Ministry. In a press statement, Dr. Khoja noted that the Ministry's participation in Souq Okaz comes in response to Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah Province, who stresses that all bodies participating in Souq Okaz should use the latest technologies and activate them in all Souq's activities and programs for this year. He has pointed out that the Fair includes products of publishers; holding of three symposiums on the rights of authors and electronic publishing, evaluation of Arab experience in electronic book publishing, reviewing of successful international experiences in this area; as well as inviting people interested in electronic publishing in the Arab world and the Union of Arab Publishers to attend and participate in the Fair and symposiums.
