Bab Rizq Jameel's (BRJ) Facebook page was ranked first in popularity among employment sector websites in the Arab world, according to Social Watchlist, a service that monitors official Facebook pages from across the Middle East & North Africa. It further said that BRJ is ranked fourth in the Kingdom in all sectors. BRJ acquired 706,320 likes. The Arab world ranks fifth in the world in terms of Facebook users, with 75 percent of users in the age category 18-29. Facebookers in the Kingdom represent 22.2 percent of the total population. The Kingdom ranks 33rd in the world, based on the number of Facebook users. During the past two years, the number of Facebook users in the Kingdom increased from 4 percent to 12 percent. The BRJ account on Twitter enjoys similar importance, taking into consideration that it is the first documented account of a nonprofit organization in the Middle East. On Twitter, BRJ has over 52,000 followers. Through this page, BRJ communicates with beneficiaries, responds to their inquiries, and advertises available job opportunities. Zain bin Abdullah bin Bayyah, marketing and social media manager at Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives, said, “We are continuously seeking to develop the content of our pages on social media, taking into consideration that social media became a cornerstone in communication with the public. In addition, users are mostly young people, which is the category that our diversified ALJCI’s programs — and BRJ in particular — interact with, and benefit from the most.” Source: Arab News
