Ajman Free Zone Authority (AFZA) has selected Google Apps to provide productivity and communications solutions to its 3,000+ corporate customers . Commenting on the decision, His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi stated: "Our objective is to meet investor needs by facilitating business activity and providing a pro-business milieu for foreign direct investment. We are confident Google Apps will significantly improve collaboration, communication, and productivity within the free zone." S?bastien Marotte, Google's Vice President Enterprise EMEA said: "Implementing Google Apps will help Ajman Free Zone streamline internal and external communication, will raise security standards, and will help achieve savings on IT infrastructure costs." Mohammed Jassem Aal Ali, AFZA's Head of Institutional Support, said: "We are constantly looking for innovative solutions which help us improve our services whilst achieving cost savings. Google Apps technology is fast, secure, and rich with features. Our customers' dependence on physical office infrastructure will be reduced as data is stored in Google's data centers." Google Apps will be deployed at AFZA by Cloud Concept, a Google Apps partner covering the GCC since 2010. Sami Caracand, CEO of Cloud Concept, said: "Today, over 5 million businesses use Google Apps with thousands more joining every day. We are delighted to have Ajman Free Zone move to the cloud with Google Apps." Ajman Free Zone was established in 1988 as a multi-billion-dirham tax-free business park strategically situated at the entrance of the Arabian Gulf.
