Samsung Electronics Co., the world's largest smartphone maker, on Monday announced that it will reveal its new Galaxy Note 3 phablet in Berlin early next month. The Samsung Unpacked 2013 Episode 2 event will be held in the Tempodrom, a large event venue, at 7:00 p.m. on Sept. 4, the company said in invitations sent to foreign news media. Industry sources had earlier said that Samsung was planning to showcase the phablet ahead of the Berlin's IFA to be held from Sept. 6 to 11. The phablet, a cross between a smartphone and a tablet computer, features a larger display than a smartphone but is more portable than a tablet. Specifications on the device were not immediately known, but the phablet will run on the LTE-Advanced mobile network. LTE stands for long-term evolution. Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 2 in 2011 and 2012, respectively, at the industrial fair.
