Apple on Monday unveiled new operating software that strengthened ties between its coveted mobile devices and popular Macintosh computers.
A next generation Macintosh operating system called "Yosemite" and coming iOS 8 software for iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touch devices were unveiled before 6,000 developers at a sold-out World Wide Developers Conference here.
Apple chief Tim Cook starred in a keynote presentation that showcased how Apple "devices, platforms and services together create a seamless experience unparalleled in the industry."
Along with features making it easy to start tasks on one Apple device and continue them without interruption on another, the California company unveiled HealthKit and HomeKit software that put its hardware at the center of managing personal health care and smart fixtures for home appliances.
