Major GSM mobile phone operator in Lebanon, Alfa, held Friday its annual Iftar in honor of media personalities in Lebanon and under patronage of Telecommunications Minister Nicholas Sehnaoui who revealed a draft decree to lower internet subscription fees in the country. "I hope that the [draft decree] to decrease internet fees will be on the cabinet's agenda for next Tuesday's meeting," said the Minister. Sehnaoui also stated that the trial phase of third generation (G3) services will be launched on ceullular phones starting early September, and will include 4000 people, 25% of whom will be highschool and university students.
