The Minister of Information and Communications, Azzam Sliet, on Saturday discussed ways to ensure better cooperation with representatives of Intel, International Business Machines (IBM) and Cisco.
Sliet also discussed with the vice president of the Intel corporation, John Davies, ways to support and train those graduating in communication and information technology, saying around 6,000 students graduate each year.
Davies expressed Intel's readiness to spread the Galileo application, first among Arduino-certified development boards based on Intel x86 architecture, and is designed for the maker and education communities.
Sliet, during his meeting with IBM Middle East Territory Executive, Bashar Kilani, stressed the importance of IBM's presence in the Jordanian market, and revealed that the Minister was desirous of inking an agreement with IBM to support the environmental business and products of the corporation in Jordan.
The Minister also talked with Cisco's Senior Vice President, Duncan Mitchell, about the Fiber-optic network project currently being implemented by the Ministry, and discussed ways of expanding the network.
