Communications and Information Technology Minister Yasser el Kady reviewed on Tuesday Egypt's vision to turn into a digital society, stressing the importance of backing partnership between the private and public sectors and the civil society.
Speaking at Telecom Review (TR) Summit 2016 in Dubai, the minister underlined the importance of setting up a legislative framework and protection networks to ensure the citizen rights in privacy and security of communications and encouraging citizens to have confidence in the digital switching system.
Kady further underlined his ministry's success in developing a new regulatory framework for telecommunications services during the launch of the fourth-generation licenses.
There is a strategic plan for developing smart communities and providing the New Administrative Capital project with the necessary infrastructure and latest technologies, the minister added.
The plan also involves the implementation of the "Knowledge City" on 300 feddans in the New Administrative Capital, he added.
In this year’s summit interesting keynotes and panels will be featured, highlighting the telecom industry’s continuous evolution.
Speakers and panelists will talk about the trendiest topics such as: Connected things and big data, smart city impact on our daily lives leading to smart city countries with smart economy, living, mobility and environment.
Data traffic and mobility topics will also be discussed, talking about the role of operators and wholesale carriers in dealing with security, threats, solutions and much more.
To end it perfectly well, Telecom Review Excellence Awards ceremony will be held to award the companies with recognized capabilities in their specific sectors.
An independent panel of 15 experienced industry veterans and the jury which includes representatives from the carrier arena, telecom/ICT vendor arena and the ICT investment banking arena will choose the winners.
In addition, the award committee will also choose winners for the Leaders’ Merit Awards based on their achievements during their career, and their milestones of service to the telecom industry.
