The number of subscriptions in the mobile telecommunication services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia amounted to 53 million subscriptions by the end of 2012, representing prepaid subscriptions by more than 86%, making the rate of the prevalence of mobile communication services at the population level in the Kingdom by 181.6%.The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) disclosed in its electronic bulletin the rise in the number of Internet users in the Kingdom by the end of 2012 to reach about 15.8 million users, noting the increase in the proportion of the spread of the Internet at high rates over the past years, rising from 5% in 2001 to 54.1% by the end of the year 2012
