Russia will not adopt US three strike system
As countries worldwide are trying to find a solution to online piracy following numerous ineffective deterrents, the Russian minister responsible for overseeing communications says that attacking
internet users is not the solution.
Torrentfreak reported that Vladimir Grigoryev said Russia will not be following the aggressive approach of targeting downloaders, as adopted in other countries like the USA. Grigoryev confirmed that file sharers will not be prosecuted or held liable for being in possession of pirated copy.
“File sharers will enter an educational campaign,” he said, adding that the responsibility will be placed with the owners of file sharing sites.
