Tunisian political activist Emna Menif, head of the "Kolna Tounes" (We are all Tunisia) movement, found herself in an embarrassing situation following the publication of a news report by of a French website revealing that she attended a French Masonic event December 6 last year. The lecture at the programme was on Tunisia's future. Emna was in white dress which represents the uniform of the Freemason movement. Emna refuted the report, claiming she was in Chicago for a medical conference at the time. Meanwhile, Menif posted on Facebook and Twitter explaining that those who knew Masonic culture would also know that there is no mixing permitted between men and women. "This is false and will not make me withdraw from the square. This reminds me of the ridiculous and naïve tactics of Ben Ali," Emna added. In the meantime, Jan Van Helsing insisted the article was factually accurate, and that his source was Emmanuel Ratier who is considered a dependable reference for all journalists. Van Helsing added that Emna was accompanied by former minister Elyès Jouini and both deliverd speeches on Tunisian politics in light of the results of the recent elections.
