An American media organisation will honour Noura Al Kaabi, Chief Executive of Abu Dhabi's media zone twofour54, in Washington this month.
Ms Al Kaabi will be honoured by America Abroad Media, a non-profit organisation in the US, for her role in leading the UAE's growing media industry.
"Her enormous contribution to the success of the media sector in Abu Dhabi, as well as her personality and leadership style, is an inspiration to young people in the UAE and across the Middle East and is an honourable reflection of the values of her country,” said Aaron Lobel, founder and president of the group.
Previous recipients include Kathryn Bigelow, director of The Hurt Locker and the first woman to win the Academy Award for Best Director, and Aamir Khan, one of India's most famous Bollywood stars.
The event is held to recognise leaders whose work reflects the media's power to inform, educate and empower citizens.
