A 33-year-old woman survived a fall into a ravine from the UAE's tallest mountain on Friday, Ras Al Khaimah Police said on Saturday.
The US citizen of Palestinian origin who was exploring the Jebel Jais area on foot reportedly fell from a height of 1,950-metre
The woman slipped from a rock and fell several metres into the ravine, according to the rescue team
RAK police ambulance and rescue department received a call on Friday afternoon seeking urgent help, said the officials.
The rescue team arrived at the accident scene but they could not reach the woman as she was lying in a deep and narrow crevice.
A helicopter was then sent to the area and she was lifted up from the ravine using ropes.
Rescuers said the woman was rushed to Sqar hospital where she is still receiving treatment
