H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri Decree to set up the Sharjah Women Sports Foundation.
According to the Emiri Decree No. 79 of 2016, a sports foundation called Sharjah Women Sports Foundation will be established in the emirate. It will have financial and administrative autonomy, legal authority and full capacity to conduct all necessary legal procedures to achieve its objectives.
The foundation will operate under the chairwomanship of H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of H.H. the Sharjah Ruler, who will be assisted by an advisory committee to be formed by decision from the chairwoman. It will include competent members in relevant areas.
The foundation will be headquartered in Sharjah, but it can open set up branches in other cities and across the emirate after a resolution is passed by the chairwoman.
According to the Decree, a director general will be appointed by the chairwoman to manage the foundation.
The Decree will be effective from the date of issuance and published in the Official Gazette. Any other provision which contradicts the Resolution will be annulled.
