Her Royal Highness Sheikha Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of the King of Bahrain, praised the pioneering march of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, since the establishment of the UAE by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
She said that Sheikha Fatima has a leading role in the institutional work for women at the national and Arab level as she could, through her tireless and loyal efforts, contribute tremendously to the great accomplishments for their benefit. She added that her notable contributions represented support to a lot of Arab and international projects to enhance women's positions in various fields.
Her Royal Highness Sheikha Sabika, on the occasion of honouring Sheikha Fatima, Mother of the Nation, shed light on her vision which focuses on cementing family cohesion and unlimited efforts to enhance its deep-rooted legacy and culture of tolerance in the Emirati society.
She also praised the continuous efforts and contributions of Sheikha Fatima to spread tolerance and the diverse culture among all segments of the UAE society. She added that Sheikha Fatima's role supports and complements the policy of the UAE aimed at providing fair and equal opportunities for Emirati women.
