Chairwoman of the National Council for Women (NCW) Maya Morsi said women have to be supported in the New Valley during the coming municipal elections.
During the launch of an NCW initiative in the governorate on Thursday, Morsi underlined the council’s efforts in the field of women’s economic empowerment, pointing out to the “national ID cards” program which aims to support all women who do not carry national IDs.
The NCW helped the issuance of nearly three million IDs in the program’s first phase running from 2000 to 2015, and over 600,000 in the second phase, which started in June 2015, she said.
