Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, has said that Emirati women have become international icons of development and excellence, thanks to the strong support from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March, she expressed her deep gratitude to H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, for her efforts in empowering Emirati women from all sectors, as well as her general support for women all over the world, irrespective of their religion, colour, ethnicity or social status.
She also expressed her deep gratitude to the wives of Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates, and Crown Princes, and the wife of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of UAE Gender Balance and President of the Dubai Women’s Establishment, for providing opportunities and harnessing enthusiasm to drive UAE national women to leading positions.
