The Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation’s, AMAF, Family Village project has received a delegation from the Abu Dhabi based Ewa’a Shelter for Women and Children, ESWC. During the visit, the two organisations pledged to strengthen cooperation and share knowledge, best practices and experiences on nurturing and protecting orphans and minors in the UAE.
The delegation was led by Sarah Ibrahim Shuhail, Executive Director of the Ewa’a Shelter. Widad Salem, Director of Family Village, received the ESWC representatives.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation through providing adequate shelter and introducing new services for orphaned children and minors at the Family Village. Family Village representatives offered the visitors an overview of the entrance criteria for children seeking shelter at the village. Future plans and joint projects were also outlined.
Widad Salem thanked the Ewa’a Shelter for Women and Children for accepting the invitation to visit the Family Village, pointing out that visits like these facilitate the sharing of expertise and foster a healthy environment for orphans and children who are deprived of wholesome family care.
Commenting on the visit, Ms. Salem said, "We look forward to working with ESWC to shape a healthy community that supports underprivileged children and encourages them to develop into productive and active members of society. Part of our ongoing efforts to share expertise and experiences and partner with national institutions in the UAE, we are confident this synergy with ESWC will further advance our common objectives. We are pleased to carry out all humanitarian works that contribute to enhancing social stability and fulfill the needs of diverse segments within the community.
