A campus of Texas State University returned to its normalcy after officials responded to a bomb threat Tuesday morning, U.S. media reported. The bomb threat was reported early Tuesday morning around 2 a.m. (0800 GMT) at a residence hall of Texas State University at San Marcos, the website of the Houston Chronicle reported. A patrol officer spotted and detained a suspicious person on the campus. An inspection of the suspect vehicle uncovered a suspicious device "with an ignition mechanism attached," university officials said in a statement. A police bomb squad determined it wasn't an explosive, but destroyed a second suspicious package, according to the report. All residents at the hall were moved from the dorm to a nearby recreation center. They stayed evacuated till the scene was cleared hours later. Authorities have not released the suspect's identity. It's not immediately known what motivated the bomb threat.
