Emory University in Georgia has acknowledged submitting misleading undergraduate data to boost its place in college rankings. University officials say it submitted scores on college admissions tests for all students who were admitted to Emory instead of scores for those who actually enrolled, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. It also overstated students' ranking in their high school classes. Emory officials say that the employees responsible for the deception are no longer employed. While school officials have released the results of an internal audit, they do not plan to release the detailed findings or to audit data submitted for its graduate programs and professional schools, the newspaper said. "These reporting issues concerned only undergraduate students," spokeswoman Nancy Seideman told the newspaper by e-mail. "Emory's graduate and professional programs utilize separate admissions offices and procedures, and these findings in no way relate to data concerning graduate and professional admissions."
