University of Jordan (UoJ) president Ikhleif Tarawneh and president of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Sedar Cam on Tuesday discussed scientific, educational and training ties between the two sides.The discussion focused on such areas as scientific projects, holding joint conferences and workshops, signing technical agreements, student exchanges and scholarship mechanisms and the prospect of initiating a Turkish studies chair at the UoJ Faculty of Arts.Tarawneh said the UoJ would offer support for launching a TIKA centre near the university to increase the prospects for cooperation.The meeting came a day after Cam and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ibrahim Saif signed a framework agreement to regulate economic cooperation related to grants and assistance that Turkey will provide to Jordan in the near future.
