Abu Dhabi University has teamed up with Tulane University in the United States to launch a joint programme that awards students dual degrees in executive management in business administration (EMBA) and a master's in global management (MGM). The 14-course programme of 42 credit hours will be taught by professors from both universities. The programme can be completed in a period of 18-20 months. Students must meet the requirements for both programmes in order to obtain the two degrees: the EMBA from Abu Dhabi and the MGM from Tulane. The programme will be conducted at Zayed University with the exception of two courses which must be completed at one of Tulane's campuses. "The EMBA/MGM programme will provide the Emirati workforce with a wide range of new skills that would enhance their analytical abilities and knowledge of the domestic and international business environment," Dr Vlad Krotov, EMBA/MGM coordinator, told Gulf News. "This will make the Emirati work force a valuable asset for any organisation in the UAE and in the world, especially to those organisations that have an international orientation." The EMBA degree is accredited in the UAE by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The MGM degree is internationally accredited by the Association of Advanced Collegiate Schools of Business. Dr Krotov said: "We felt an MBA alone is not enough in today's increasingly global and integrated business environment. ‘Especially true' Article continues below "This is especially true for the UAE — a country with one of the world's most open, internationally-oriented business environments and probably the world's most diverse work force." The programme is open to all nationalities. "The EMBA programme will help ADU's College of Business become a prominent international hub for executive education," said Dr Jacob Chacko, Dean of the College of Business. "This is well-aligned with our mission, which is to be internationally recognised for the excellence of our academic activities."
