Taibah University in Madinah will build a campus for accommodation of students in its branch in Yanbu, the university's rector said on Tuesday evening. Mansour Al-Nuzha was addressing a special function in Yanbu Tuesday evening that featured a presentation on the project. Yanbu Gov. Ibrahim Al-Sultan attended the function along with Director general of the Royal Commission for Yanbu and Jubail Ala bin Abdullah Naseef, members of the city's municipal council and a host of other dignitaries. Al-Nuzha said a plot of land with a 2.7 million sq. meter area has been allocated for the campus, which at present has six colleges: engineering, science and computers, applied medical sciences, applied science, arts and public administration. He said SR250 million has been allotted for the construction of the first phase of the project. The rector said 7,500 male and female students were currently attending the Yanbu branch. He added that Yanbu students represent about 13 percent of the total number of the university's students who number around 60,000.
