Vice President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, inaugurated Monday two boarding houses of Omer Ibrahim Al-Badawi and Al-Sir Haj Al-Hassan for the students of the university of Gedarif, besides inaugurating the Faculty of Computer Sciences and computers labs in the University of Gedarif.
In his address to the meeting, the Vice President appreciated the efforts of the University of Gedarif in providing the appropriate academic environment to improve the academic pursuit, declaring his support to the faculty by250 computers and 10 million pounds to the university.
He called for giving more concern to education and learning toward achieving the required progress in the country, stressing the importance of preparing research in the agricultural and processing industry fields in order to improve the comparative advantages.
Meanwhile, Hassabo appreciated the initiative of the national dialogue being led by the University of Gedarif, noting that the method of the dialogue will continue to unite the national rank.
He directed the government of Gedarif State to provide housing for the teachers and to increase resources for stopping the brain drain, adding that the state is able to provide the Arab Food Security.
On his side, the Wali of Gedarif state AL-Dhaw Mohamed Al-Mahi appreciated University of Gedarif and its efforts in supporting the faculty, adding that the University of Gedarif is a consultative reference for all projects of Gedarif government, affirming to benefit from the Institute of the Strategic Planning which was established by the University of Gedarif as well as he lauded the Students Support Fund in preparing students barracks as contribution in achieving the academic obtains.
In the same regard the Vice President of the Republic handed over 10 agricultural tractors with accessories to a number of Women Cooperation societies in Western AL-Galabat Locality funded by the Arab Organization for the Agricultural Development.
