The Faculty of Earth Sciences of the Jeddah-based King Abdulaziz University (KAU) clinched recently the international academic accreditation of the British Geological Society, which is world's oldest geological society and is recognized as the premier global academic institution in teaching earth sciences. The Faculty's Dean Dr. Ammar bin Abdel Moneim Amin said that an experts committee, comprising specialists from the college and other academic institutions are working to review a well-defined plan to study courses that are being taught to students and update them in conformity with the requirements of the labor market. He disclosed that all faculty graduates get jobs in prestigious public and private sectors in the first year of their graduation. The Faculty is the only one offering bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in the field of Earth Sciences.
