Al-Azhar University has pulled the nomination of professor Maged Abdel Salam for heading the Faculty of Islamic Call for belonging to the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group.
In press statements to MENA Sunday, President of Azhar University Abdel-Hai Azab said that the name of Abdel Salam has not been submitted to the Prime Minister, who is tasked with appointing any dean of the university.
"The post is vacant now," Azab said.
Earlier in the day, The Awqaf Ministry said that it would withdraw the interim preaching license from Abdel Salam after he insulted police and army forces.
