Al Azhar dismissed allegations attributed to Yasser Borhami, the deputy head of the Salafist Call, that Al Azhar has some officials who belong to the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB).
A statement issued by Al Azhar on Monday said any Al Azhar official who proved to be supporting the MB will be fired.
The statement denied that the Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb played key role in resolving the crisis between the Salafist Call and the Ministry of Awqaf to allow Borhami to give Friday sermons, pointing out that Al Azhar does not interfere in the work of the Ministry of Awqaf.
