Higher education institutions in Abu Dhabi and Berlin will maintain greater academic cooperation to carry out initiatives in higher education and scientific research. A Memorandum of Understanding, signed by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Klaus Wowereit, the Governing Mayor of Berlin, will define mechanisms of the joint educational partnership. Sheikh Nahyan said the MoU will expand channels of cooperation to enable higher education providers in Abu Dhabi (Zayed University and Higher Colleges of Technology) and Berlin conduct joint scientific research and other academic exchange and training programmes. The MoU was inked in the presence of Marta A. Tomovska, Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Information Society and Administration in Macedonia, Orhan Hikmet Azizoğlu, Chairman of International Universities Council (IUC), Turkey, and Steve Bright Director, International Human Resources at Northrop Grumman Corporation.
