The Minister of Education set up an advisory council comprising 227 teachers for the first time in the ministry's history.
The council will include teachers who represent all education zones, specialities and disciplines.
Hussain bin Ebrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, said this decision represents the ministry's keenness to involve teachers in the decision-making process.
He said the ministry created training and development programmes with high standards in order to benefit and improve teachers' training. The announcement was made in light of International Teachers Day, which falls on October 5 every year.
