Al Azhar is supporting Thai students in order to benefit them and help them spread the moderate teachings of Islam and its culture of tolerance and moderation in the society, Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb affirmed on Monday.
Tayyeb's remark was made during talks with Thai Ambassador in Cairo Beira Sak at the end of his tenure in Egypt.
Tayyeb praised efforts exerted by Sak during his tour of duty in Cairo, with special focus on his fruitful cooperation with Azhar.
On his part, the Thai diplomat hailed good relations between Azhar and Thailand and ongoing cooperation with officials in this great institution.
